All About Willow And Scott
Hi, I am Beth!
I was an executive in the pharmaceutical industry for 20+ years. I enjoyed my time, learned a lot, and met some really great people. I took a risk at a time in my career that I was really quite comfortable with. I was an all-star at a large well known company, but I could literally do my job in my sleep and the desire to keep growing kept me wanting more. I was presented with an opportunity for a role at a young company that could have been a huge failure or a huge success. I was very uncomfortable in my new role for the first year, but then I learned to embrace all that I was learning from the people I was surrounded by and trust the trust they had placed in me. Early on my mentor at the new company asked me my career goals and I said I hoped to be a manager one day. She literally laughed at me and said, "There is no way you will be just a manager, you are going to be a CEO!" From that moment, I realized anything was possible and I used the inspiration I got from my mentor to pay it forward to those who I thought had something special. Needless to say, the company was an epic success breaking records in our industry, and financially I was able to retire.
I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do when I retired other than to take some time. I was quickly approached by some former colleagues that were already asking me if I wanted to join their companies. I wasn’t quite ready for that, but I did accept an offer to get my executive coaching certification so I could do some consulting projects part time. As I continued to reflect, I knew that one thing I have always enjoyed doing as a hobby is design and decorating. We have built multiple custom homes in our 24 year marriage, and I have helped many friends and family with design projects. I was aware that there are many highly educated professional designers out there, and they are sometimes out of reach for people in terms of access and budget. Because I truly feel that your surroundings affect your mood and level of comfort, I wanted to help others find a way to elevate their surroundings in an accessible way. Thus, my idea for The Two Hour Transformation was born.
My drive to inspire falls into three categories:
1. I want to inspire women of all ages to take risks and defy limitations. If you feel comfortable in your current situation, whatever it may be, but not truly happy or perhaps you feel like you are not living up to your fullest potential, I can help! I help ambitious women unlock their full potential by providing the tools, strategies, and mindset shifts needed to elevate their careers to the next level. Check out my Lifestyle Design services to make it happen.
2. I want to inspire women to put themselves in an environment that surrounds them with a feeling of happiness and joy. What do I mean by this? It means so many things! For example, when you are in your own home, in a space you aren't loving and aren't proud of, it can change your feelings. We can all page through a magazine and look at homes of social media influencers and wish our house looked that way, but why not just make it happen? There is always a way. I want to inspire you to find the way to make it happen. Check out my Two Hour Transformation to make it happen.
3. I want to inspire women of all ages to invest in themselves and their surroundings. There has been a time in everyone’s life whether young or old when we feel like we can't afford the "finer things in life". We don't spend money on skincare, we buy clothes that are less expensive and disposable, we don't take that trip or try new experiences, we don't surround ourselves with people that we feel comfortable being ourselves with. There is always a way to invest in yourself regardless of what stage in life you are in. Check out my Full Service Design to make it happen.
As we work together, my goal is to continue to expand Willow and Scott into a full lifestyle brand that encourages women to see endless possibilities by investing in themselves.
When you work with me, you will get my full attention and not only will I help you transform your space, I will help you to break down any barriers that may be holding you back. For example, I was recently working with a commercial client on a project, and part of my design caused concern because it impacted other people within the business. We broke down why it caused concern for some and ultimately came up with a solution. The client thanked me for helping her to feel empowered and break down the barrier she initially saw.
I love to see design and style through the lens of my client’s eyes. This allows me to envision what they need and how to achieve something that is comfortable for them. Whether it is a style modification to something they have seen in my home, or a request for budget friendly options, together, we can make it happen.
Meet Willow and Scott, our namesake! Willow is more sensitive and skiddish and waits for acceptance when she meets someone new. On the other hand, Scott throws everything he has at anyone with the expectation they will love him. As women, we are often excepted and quite frankly required to be sensitive and ask for acceptance. It's an extremely valuable quality to have, but sometimes in order to Make It Happen, we have to go in to every situation full throttle with the expectation of success.
At Willow & Scott, my mission is to create a lifestyle brand that serves as a guide for women who desire to elevate their mindset and life to one of luxury. Through the values of authenticity, communication, connection, growth, and strength, my philosophy is that “There is Always a Way” and together, we can “Make it Happen.”
